Vietnam: e-Visa
Vietnam's e-visa is run by the Immigration Department. Since 11 November 2024 the portal has operated on two domains: evisa.gov.vn and thithucdientu.gov.vn.
Who needs it
Foreigners eligible for an e-visa. The Immigration Department says you can apply personally or through requesting agencies and organisations.
Key facts
- An e-visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days, single or multiple entry.
- The fee is paid through the electronic payment gateway and is not refunded if the application is refused.
- You upload your passport details page and a photo, and the result arrives by email.
Watch out for
The change of domains caused confusion, and lookalike sites reportedly buy ads on searches such as 'Vietnam visa official website'. Check that the address matches one of the two domains above exactly.
Before you pay
Check that the address matches the link above, confirm the amount on the portal, and never pay a site that adds a large service fee. Our guide to spotting fake visa websites explains the warning signs, and the FAQ covers common questions.
This page is a summary for general information and can go out of date, and exemptions depend on your own nationality, so always confirm on the official portal. See our disclaimer.
