About Portal Checks

Portal Checks helps travellers find the official government website for their visa or travel authorisation, and avoid lookalike sites that charge extra.

Why it exists

Many travellers have paid inflated fees to sites that looked official. Governments and embassies keep warning about this, but the warnings are scattered. We gather the official links, fees and sources in one place.

What we do

• List the official portal for each country we cover, with its source and the date we last checked.
• Show the government fee where we could confirm it.
• Explain how to recognise fake sites.

What we do not do

• We are not a government body and do not process applications.
• We do not use government logos, flags or seals.
• We never ask for your passport or payment details.

Who runs it

Portal Checks is run by Portal Checks. Contact us on the contact page. Read how we check entries in How we verify.
