Jordan: e-Visa / Jordan Pass
Jordan's standard tourist e-visa and visa-on-arrival system is run through the Ministry of Interior's e-services portal. Separately, many tourists buy the Jordan Pass, which bundles the visa fee waiver with entry to over 40 attractions including Petra.
Who needs it
Most tourist nationalities needing a visa for Jordan. GCC citizens generally enter visa-free. Check the Jordan Pass site for which nationalities are eligible to buy it.
Key facts
- The standard visa fee is 40 JOD, payable as an e-visa, on arrival, or at a Jordanian embassy.
- Buying a Jordan Pass (70-80 JOD depending on the package) waives that 40 JOD visa fee entirely, but only if you stay at least 2 whole nights (3 calendar days) in Jordan.
- If you're on a Jordan Pass and staying less than the minimum nights, you'll be asked to pay the visa fee on departure instead.
- There is only one official site for the Jordan Pass: jordanpass.jo.
Watch out for
Other websites using a similar name but a different domain ending (such as .com instead of .jo) are not official and tend to charge more for the same product.
Before you pay
