Philippines: eTravel arrival registration (most visitors are visa-free)
Most visitors to the Philippines do not need a visa at all for a short tourist stay, under Executive Order 408. What every visitor does need is the free eTravel arrival registration.
Who needs it
Most nationalities, for tourist or business visits of up to 30 days. Check the Department of Foreign Affairs' list for exceptions, since some nationalities do need a visa in advance.
Key facts
- eTravel replaced the old one-health pass system and covers arrival and departure registration.
- Register at etravel.gov.ph within 72 hours before you arrive or depart.
- It is free, and it is a registration, not a visa.
- A separate temporary visitor's visa exists for nationalities that are not visa-exempt, applied for at visa.gov.ph or a Philippine embassy.
Watch out for
Because eTravel is free, be wary of any site that charges a fee for it. Confirm your own nationality's visa requirement on the Bureau of Immigration's site, since the visa-free list does not cover everyone.
Before you pay
