Thailand: Digital Arrival Card (TDAC), not a visa
Thailand's Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is an online registration form, not a visa. It replaced the paper TM6 arrival card from 1 May 2025.
Who needs it
Every foreign visitor, whether they need a visa or enter visa-free. Transit passengers who do not pass through immigration are among the exceptions.
Key facts
- Submit it within 3 days before you arrive.
- It is free of charge and must be completed for every entry.
- Travellers who need a visa still apply for an e-Visa separately.
Watch out for
Because the card is free, a site that asks you to pay for it is not the official one.
Before you pay
Check that the address matches the link above, confirm the amount on the portal, and never pay a site that adds a large service fee. Our guide to spotting fake visa websites explains the warning signs, and the FAQ covers common questions.
This page is a summary for general information and can go out of date, and exemptions depend on your own nationality, so always confirm on the official portal. See our disclaimer.
